Life in Paraguay and its advantages

Paraguay is a South American country renowned for its tranquility and relaxed pace of life. The people are warm, welcoming, and always willing to help, making it easy for foreigners to integrate.

The cost of living is among the lowest in the region: housing, food, and services remain very affordable compared to Europe. Taxation is also advantageous, with a single income tax (10%), which is attractive to investors and entrepreneurs.

The subtropical climate allows for the enjoyment of a bountiful natural environment: fertile land, wide open spaces, forests, and rivers. The country is still relatively untouristy, offering a rare authenticity and a true quality of life for those seeking peace and security.

Opportunities abound in agriculture, real estate, trade, and services. Private education is affordable for families, and the environment remains conducive to a healthy, outdoor lifestyle.

Asunción, capital of Paraguay

Asunción is one of the oldest cities in South America, founded in 1537, on the banks of the Paraguay River. It combines a historic center with colonial buildings and modern neighborhoods with shopping centers, restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife.

It is the economic and administrative heart of the country, where businesses, institutions, and major universities are concentrated. Despite its dynamism, Asunción remains a capital on a human scale, less stressful than many others in Latin America.

It has a good selection of private schools, hospitals, and services, attracting expats and families. Life is more expensive than in the countryside, but remains affordable compared to Europe.

The Cordillera and San Bernardino

The Cordillera is a green and hilly region of Paraguay, known for its pleasant climate, natural landscapes, and tranquility. It's a popular area for Paraguayans and expats to live in or spend weekends away from the bustle of the capital.

At the heart of this region lies San Bernardino, a seaside resort located on the shores of Lake Ypacaraí. It is renowned for its outdoor activities, restaurants, cultural life, and summer festivals. In summer, it is a popular vacation spot; the rest of the year, it regains its calm, ideal for a peaceful life.

Its proximity to Asunción (approximately 40 km) makes it an ideal compromise between nature and access to urban services. There are also numerous real estate and tourism opportunities.

The Cordillera and Caacupé

The Cordillera is a mountainous and verdant region, renowned for its peaceful landscapes, pleasant climate, and proximity to Asunción. It attracts both nature lovers and those seeking a more serene lifestyle.

Caacupé, the department's capital, is considered the spiritual heart of Paraguay thanks to its famous basilica, a national pilgrimage site. It is a charming city, with shops, services, schools, universities, and a hospital, while remaining on a human scale and friendly.

Located approximately 50 km from the capital, Caacupé combines tranquility, authenticity and accessibility, making it a popular place to settle or invest.
